Quest believes that everyone should have access to knowledge, skills, and understanding needed to navigate and thrive in a changing climate future.  Quest is creating programs to mobilize future generations to take action to improve our community!

Our goals are to:
1. Increase youth awareness and understanding of climate change.
2. Promote meaningful science-based climate action.
3. Create a united community of like-minded youth.

Climate Literacy

Partnering with local school districts to advance climate literacy so all students graduate prepared to thrive in a changing world.

Urban Heat Island Mapping

Using Quest-designed mobile sensors to map neighborhood-level heat across the Tri-Valley and inform strategies that reduce heat-related health risks.  Click here to learn more.

Methane Sources Assessment

Examining indoor and outdoor methane sources, including natural seeps and landfills, to better understand local greenhouse gas emissions.

Native Plant & Soil Science

Exploring how native plants influence soil health and carbon storage to guide climate-resilient landscaping and planning.

Climate Change on Respiratory Health

Analyzing long-term climate, health, and allergen data to understand how changing conditions affect respiratory risk.

Water Conservation & Management

Applying satellite-based evapotranspiration data to support sustainable water use among local farmers, vineyards, and residents.

Past Projects

Livermore Climate Literacy
Fall 2024

Recognizing the current need for K-12 climate education, Quest high school interns researched and developed a Climate Literacy Resolution.  The Resolution was presented to the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District Board and approved on October 15, 2024.

 

Livermore Youth Climate Summit
September 9, 2023

The Livermore Youth Climate Summit was a one-day convening and interactive event for high school youth to gather and take action on climate change!  Learn more here.
