On Saturday, July 20, LSSC fielded its wind tunnel and vacuum drop exhibits at the Valley Children’s Museum in Dublin’s Emerald Glen Park as part of a joint Super Saturday event celebrating the Apollo 11 moon mission. This was our first full demonstration of the vacuum drop experiment inspired by the Apollo 15 demonstration that a hammer and feather drop at the same speed in the absence of air resistance on the moon. Students from middle school to college age assisted with our exhibits and thoroughly enjoyed both learning and teaching younger children.
