Quest believes that everyone should have access to knowledge, skills, and understanding needed to navigate and thrive in a changing climate future.  Quest is creating programs to mobilize future generations to take action to improve our community!

Our goals are to:
1. Increase youth awareness and understanding of climate change.
2. Promote meaningful science-based climate action.
3. Create a united community of like-minded youth.

Email us if you would like to volunteer or donate to support youth climate action in our region.

Below are some of our current and past projects.

Current and Past Projects

Livermore Climate Literacy

Recognizing the current need for K-12 climate education, Quest high school interns researched and developed a Climate Literacy Resolution.  The Resolution was presented to the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District Board and approved on October 15, 2024.

Tri-Valley Youth Climate Action Program

The Tri-Valley Youth Climate Action Program supports student led projects in the region to address climate related challenges. The projects are supported by Quest adult mentors and partners.  Current projects include:

Urban Heat Island Mapping – Deploying fixed and mobile temperature sensors to detect urban heat islands where residents are most vulnerable to extreme heat events.

Carbon Garden – Using soil biome genetic testing to increase carbon sequestration and transform unused spaces into thriving native plant gardens that improve soil health, biodiversity, and public spaces.

High School Waste Audits – programing AI aided waste audits to create new methods for improving waste management and eliminating cross contamination in trash cans.

Clothing Swaps – Promoting reuse of clothing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate global warming through clothing swaps.

Climate Friendly Food – Encouraging plant based menus in schools to reduce impact of the food sector on global greenhouse gas emissions.

Energy efficient lighting surveys – Reducing energy consumption in schools and public buildings by using infrared imaging and optical spectroscopy to replace old lighting.

Aquifer Measurements – Measuring regional aquifer depths to identify seasonal and agricultural impacts of climate change.
