LSSC Wind Tunnel deployed at Bay Area Science Festival at Oracle Park in San Francisco

Nov 4, 2019

We deployed our wind tunnel on November 2 at the Bay Area Science Festival event in San Francisco as part of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory booth at Oracle Park. Hundreds of children enjoy decorating parachutes and learning about gravity and wind resistance, including how much higher the wind can push a larger parachute. Some of the older youth measured wind velocities with an anemometer to learn more about the physics. We have used over 1000 coffee filters for this activity in the past 7 months.
